PORTRAIT PROMOTION
February sees a very special promotion for those looking to book a portrait session in Ayrshire. There will be selected days when I am offering a portrait session for just £10! This allows everyone to have a professional portrait, similar to many of the shots you will see on this site, taken for the price of a couple of Happy Meals.
Interested? Great - then read on...
When my normal portraiture packages start at just £120, you will, naturally, have a few questions. I'll try to answer them here:
1) How can I do a shoot for just £10 when it would normally start at over 10 times as much?
Simple - If I am commissioned to shoot a portrait, group or individual, I am booked for a specific number of hours to allow as many changes of outfits/ backgrounds as required and my fees include the time taken to not only take the shots but also to edit those shots (simply put - the more time I spend shooting = the more time I need to spend editing them on the computer)and, if required, hair stylists and make-up artists. So, to bring the price down so dramatically I take a day and split the appointments into 15-minute slots for a maximum of two people (perfect for mother & baby or shots of your children together). I set up two backdrops - one plain white and one black and use whichever works best with your outfit. I also ask my clients to allow me to then use selected shots to help promote my business in the future - this means that more people can benefit from other promotions like this one (and, of course, you can always come back for more?)
2) What do you get for your money?
Your £10 guarantees you a 15-minute appointment, during which I will take a variety of shots of different poses. A realistic figure would be that you should expect to see 5-10 shots from that time and may include some in black & white. All shots from the day will be edited and uploaded to a gallery on the website, which will be password protected and only clients who attend the shoot will have access to this. Thereafter, you may choose from a wide range of digital copies and print sizes from 6"x4" all the way up to poster-size and canvases up to A2. The gallery will be 'live' for 30 days, during which time you can browse at your leisure before deciding which shots you want to buy.
3) You have a large family and would like to bring several members to have a family portrait taken?
Relax, all we need to do is book more time. This is done on the basis of £10 for 15 minutes for 2 people. Therefore, 3-4 people would be a 30 minute booking for just £20 (the same principal may be applied if you want to have a couple of outfit changes to get a variety of looks)
4) Will I 'airbrush' you?
This has to be one of the most commonly asked questions a photographer faces these days. My answer is simple: Image editing programmes are there to help 'fine-tune' an already successful shot. This relies on the photographer doing his/ her part properly by lighting and posing you properly to make you look the best he/ she can. Therefore, when I process my portraits, I normally stick to using the minimum amount of 'digital artistry' possible and prefer to work harder when I'm there at the shoot with you than when I'm in front of a computer.
5) Why should you use KSG Photography when you, or a friend, has a good digital camera with a self-timer?
I was once told that there is no product which cannot be offered of an inferior quality, for less money, by someone else (although, at just £10 it really doesn't get much cheaper than this, does it?). This holds even truer in this digital age when it seems that anyone can pick up a digital camera for less and less and see the images on their computer screen straight away. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as pressing a button to create something special - I have met MANY people who claim to be 'professional' photographers but have absolutely no idea how their equipment works, how to light someone properly and how to pose a client to make them look their best. With over 20 years experience as a photographer, I have shot many celebrities ranging from the Royal family to pop-stars and world-class athletes. However, I prefer to let my work 'do the talking' and invite you to browse some of the galleries on my website before you make your decision.
Due to the limited number of spaces available at these events, an appointment (paid in full when booking) is essential to avoid disappointment. To book your appointment, or if you have any further questions, please call: 07885 772577
